About Lifemark Harvey Avenue, located in Kelowna, BC.

Our Lifemark Harvey Avenue clinic has been operating for 25 years, and is centrally located at 1634 Harvey Avenue along Highway 97 between Global Gym and the Parkinson Recreation Centre in Kelowna. Parking is free and is a wheelchair accessible facility. The clinic is a large, multidisciplinary physiotherapy facility providing a full rehabilitation gym and private treatment rooms for physiotherapy, massage therapy, dizziness and balance and other treatments. It is easily accessible via public transportation, lots of green spaces and a nearby recreation centre in Kelowna.

As a Kinesiologist in our Customized Recovery and Return-To-Work Program, you will play a key role in assisting those impacted by injury through their individual recovery process. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, individualized care that supports recovery and a successful return to work and daily functioning. In addition to working with the WorkSafe BC rehab program, you will have the opportunity to participate in other work streams such as FCEs, Community services and Veterans Rehabilitation services.

Your impact

This position will provide the opportunity to work collaboratively with a team of clinicians, as well as provide exposure to complex occupational rehab cases. Our Kinesiologists provide both individual and program-based treatments and assessments for individuals recovering from motor vehicle accidents and workplace injuries. They also play a pivotal role in supporting Veterans and individuals facing physical, cognitive and mental wellness goals. In this role, you will:

• Perform biomechanical, fitness, and functional assessments under the mentorship and direction of a physiotherapist.
• Design, implement and supervise graded exercise, work conditioning and/or work hardening programs.
• Utilize e-charting software to document client sessions; submit reports to stakeholders promptly.
• Work cooperatively with clients to set and achieve functional goals.
• Complete functional components of reports for initial, progress and discharge.
• Ensure return-to-work plans with the client and employer have been made and documented in the client's chart.

Key skills and qualifications include:

• Registered and in good standing with the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists.
• Preferably with clinical outpatient rehabilitation experience in areas such as WSBC, ICBC, JSV, return to work, Mental health, concussion, and musculoskeletal/orthopedic injury.
• Newly licensed Registered Kinesiology graduates are welcome to apply.
• Passion for your profession and commitment to ongoing professional development
• Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, time management, computer and documentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
