ABOUT THE LUNG HEALTH FOUNDATION

Imagine a future where people living with lung cancer have a fighting chance, where no one loses a loved one to asthma, where people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) live their lives to the fullest, where older adults don’t lose their independence in life, and where future generations don’t suffer the debilitating effects of lung disease. The Lung Health Foundation (LHF) is committed to making this future a reality. And this new future starts now.

The Lung Health Foundation’s mission is to improve the lung health of Canadians, and we will achieve this through:

● Groundbreaking research;

● Policy and practice change;

● Urgently needed programs and support; and

● Public education around lung health issues.

And at the heart of it all? Helping those who have been impacted by lung disease.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Research & Programs, the Lead brings specialized knowledge of applied health research, with particular responsibility for Fit for Breath (FFB), health systems initiatives, program evaluation, and research granting activities. The Lead coordinates delivery, supports specialized analysis and interpretation of health data, develops and applies evaluation frameworks, maintains relationships with researchers, clinicians, and partners, and supervises interns and volunteers supporting the team.

This is an opportunity for an experienced, collaborative professional who can translate plans into coordinated action, apply sound research and evaluation methods, guide the work of others, and use evidence to improve programs and outcomes for people living with lung disease.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain productive relationships with researchers, clinicians, health-system partners, and community stakeholders
  • Monitor funded project activities, assess progress against objectives, and coordinate reporting requirements and follow-up actions
  • Facilitate working groups and committees, including agendas, materials, decisions, and action tracking

Program Data & Evaluation Support

  • Build and implement practical data collection processes, measures, and tools across programs
  • Maintain accurate, secure, and analysis-ready health and program datasets, with appropriate data-quality checks and documentation
  • Support specialized quantitative and qualitative analysis of health data and interpret findings in collaboration with internal and external subject-matter experts
  • Develop and apply logic models, theories of change, indicators, evaluation questions, and other evaluation frameworks appropriate to program objectives
  • Evaluate program performance, outcomes, and equity considerations; synthesize findings and recommend improvements
  • Prepare clear dashboards, reports, presentations, and decision-support materials for varied audiences

Knowledge Mobilization & Dissemination

  • Support the development of reports, presentations, and other knowledge products
  • Contribute to manuscript development and other dissemination activities, as appropriate
  • Lead logistics for knowledge sharing activities such as webinars, workshops, and conferences

Project Coordination & Operations

  • Translate approved strategies into detailed implementation plans, activities, timelines, milestones, and deliverables across research, evaluation, and program initiatives
  • Monitor progress, dependencies, risks, and budgets; resolve routine implementation issues and escalate significant concerns with recommended options
  • Supervise, orient, and provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and quality oversight to interns, volunteers, and other assigned team contributors
  • Lead grant reporting, funding applications, internal documentation, and cross-functional activities to support timely, high-quality delivery

Equity, Inclusion, and Organizational Support

  • Apply a health equity lens in supporting research and program activities
  • Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team environment
  • Support additional projects and priorities as needed
