As part of the Co-op, Experiential Learning and Career Centre (CELCC), Career Services is one of three complementary branches working together to connect students' career development with experiential learning and employment opportunities. The Manager works closely with the Employer Relations and Co-op Student Experience branches to ensure a coordinated approach to career preparation, serving both the broader student population and students enrolled in co-op programs. The role advances a proactive, inclusive, and scalable approach to professional development and career education, with structured programming and career advising that supports students from first year through graduation, and with particular emphasis on preparation beyond the first year of study. The Manager ensures that career education is aligned with academic timelines, recruiting cycles, and employer expectations through close collaboration with Employer Relations and Co op Student Experience teams.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Define, publish, and maintain the Career Services programming calendar aligned to academic timelines and recruiting cycles; ensure a clear progression of career learning opportunities from early degree stages through graduation.
• Hire, train, schedule, assign work, monitor, evaluate, and motivate unit personnel, ensuring consistent delivery of high‑quality career advising, workshops, and career education materials.
• Oversee the development, maintenance and improvement of career education content, including workshops, embedded sessions, guides, and self‑serve resources; coordinate curriculum‑embedded career learning with faculties.
• Ensure enhanced career readiness supports for co‑op students via co‑op preparation tracking, aligning with milestones and coordinated with Co‑op Student Experience.
• Maintain a structured feedback loop with Employer Relations to translate employer insights and labour‑market signals into updates to Career Services programming, resources, and student messaging; collaborate on employer‑connected initiatives such as volunteer opportunities.
• Oversee Concordia’s prestigious awards program setting the annual cycle, coordinating information and preparation sessions, and ensuring appropriate delegation of direct student support, to secure applications and Concordia’s reputation on the awards circuit.
• Review career advising activity, program student participation, and student feedback data to assess reach and effectiveness; synthesize insights and apply them to program planning, calendar adjustments, and service prioritization; report key insights quarterly to the Senior Director.
• Supervise, provide and evaluate career outreach educational programs, services and workshops relevant to students from all faculties at the undergraduate and graduate level.
• Own the Career Services communications approach, ensuring clear visibility and wayfinding for career advising, workshops, and resources, in alignment with First Year Experience and the Student Success Centre, Employer Relations, and Co‑op Student Experience.
• Liaise with Faculties, Student Services, unit managers within Co-op, Experiential Learning and Student Success, and other internal and external contacts with the purpose of representing and advocating for career education student support.
• Perform other duties in support of the operation of the unit.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree and four to seven years of career education, career advising, or student development, including staff leadership.
• Good knowledge (Level 4) of spoken and written English and French in order to communicate effectively and to draft correspondence, documentation, and reports. Knowledge of additional languages is an asset.
• Good knowledge (intermediate level) of Word, Excel.
• Demonstrated knowledge of job market trends, recruiting practices and career development practices.

• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a team environment.
• Aptitude to work in a service-oriented environment as both a member of a team and independently.
• Ability to lead a team and foster a positive team environment.
• Experience embedding career education into academic or co‑curricular contexts is an asset.
• Experience supporting students applying for prestigious or competitive scholarships and awards is an asset.
• Familiarity with inclusive and equity‑informed approaches to career education is an asset.
