Our client, a well-established manufacturing organization, is looking for a Materials Manager who can bring fresh ideas, challenge the status quo, and drive meaningful improvements across purchasing, inventory, production planning, and supply chain operations. What You'll Do
- Lead and develop the materials, purchasing, planning, and inventory functions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize inventory levels, material flow, and operational efficiency.
- Partner with production, operations, and leadership teams to ensure material availability while minimizing excess inventory.
- Analyze supply chain performance and identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and risk reduction.
- Develop and implement new strategies, procedures, and best practices to improve planning and inventory accuracy.
- Build strong supplier relationships and support sourcing initiatives when required.
- Monitor key performance indicators including inventory turns, on-time delivery, material shortages, and forecast accuracy.
- Lead cycle count programs and inventory control processes to ensure high levels of accuracy.
- Support ERP system utilization and help drive improvements through data-driven decision-making.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of Materials Management, Supply Chain, Inventory, Purchasing, or Production Planning leadership experience within manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, demand planning, procurement, and production scheduling.
- Experience implementing process improvements and leading operational change.
- Proven ability to analyze data, solve complex problems, and make sound business decisions.
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
- APICS/ASCM certifications (CPIM, CSCP) are considered an asset.
