Project Manager, formulation.

Brief description of the position :

In order to meet the needs of its clients in the Cosmetic sector, FOP CONSULTANTS is looking for formulation consultants to carry out various mandates. The main missions would be to manage liquid, semi-solid or solid cosmetic product formulation projects, carry out laboratory tests, find raw material suppliers, determine critical parameters for scaling up and evaluate costs.

Main responsibilities :

Without limitation, the main tasks involve:

• Manage projects on the development of various products in compliance with protocols and GMP;
• Design various formulas, develop, coordinate and validate laboratory and stability tests;
• Determine deviations in processes and formulas and propose solutions;
• Write manufacturing processes and formulation protocols;
• Participate in the development of critical parameters necessary for scale-up (pilot batches to industrial batches); Participate and collaborate in all stages of technology transfer;
• Ensure the manufacturing of pilot tests; Assist in the manufacturing of the first industrial batch;
• Contact suppliers for the choice of production equipment and raw materials; collaborate on packaging projects;
• Intervene to solve problems that cause a decrease in yield and quality;
• Work in close collaboration with the accounting department in order to elaborate the product costs;
• Write various technical and R&D reports;
• Participate in weekly or monthly meetings on quality assurance issues.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's or master's degree in science (chemistry, biochemistry, biology, pharmaceutical, pharmacovigilance, etc.), cosmetology or any other related discipline;
• 1 (one) to 10 (ten) years of industry experience, preferably in the cosmetics or (bio)pharmaceutical sector;
• Project management (an asset);
• Experience in formulation of liquid, semi-solid or solid products in the cosmetic field;
• Experience in dealing with raw material suppliers;
• Knowledge of the ISO 22716 standard for cosmetic products;
• Knowledge of regulations (Health Canada, FDA, EMA);
• Excellent skills in MS Office Suite;
• Good communication and writing skills in French and English;
• Mobility (an asset).
