Your main responsibilities
Protostatix, a Division of Englobe is looking for their next Structural Engineering Technologist to join our office in Edmonton, Calgary or Etobicoke.
- Prepare engineering drawings
- Design drafting using AutoCAD, REVIT, and MS office with excellent general computer skills
- Must have good knowledge and experience with wood construction.
- Preparing and modifying drawings during design and construction. Ensuring structural drawings and specifications meet established Project criteria and applicable standards.
- Have a good understanding of design / drafting for Multi-family dwellings, light commercial and commercial buildings.
- Assisting in the preparation of functional, preliminary and detailed design drawings.
- Participate in the production of construction document for structural projects.
- Communication and coordination with other sub consultants and members of the Project team.
- Read and interpret blueprints/drawings
- And other miscellaneous duties, as required
What makes you unique
- Completion of civil engineering technology diploma from an accredited school is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience ideally in the consulting industry.
- Working experience and knowledge in recent and current versions of AutoCAD, REVIT, MS Office with excellent general computer skills is required.
- Experience with wood construction design and drafting.
- Equivalent experience or education may be considered.
- Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities are required.
