What You’ll Be Doing
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver a diverse fleet of construction equipment to and from customer jobsites. Equipment fleet includes (but is not limited to) aerial, earth moving and compaction equipment.
- Load and unload equipment; secure loaded equipment per company safe work procedures and inspect in transit if necessary.
- Complete thorough and accurate daily pre-inspections and post-inspections, regulatory logs and timesheets.
- Check gas, oil and other fluid levels.
- Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed.
- Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups.
- Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites.
- Double check delivered items to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered.
- Provide basic instruction to customers on the safe operation of equipment if necessary.
- Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, so customers may be notified.
- Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records. If equipment is missing or broken upon pick up fill out the appropriate forms and get the customer’s signature.
- Tag and move broken equipment to repair area.
- Keep the truck in clean and professional condition at all times.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a driver’s abstract and commercial driving record (no more than three demerit points). You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.
- Comfortable with working outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather / road conditions.
- Comfortable with manual transmission.
- Comfortable with city driving.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods. Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
- Highly safety-focused and professional; take pride in your vehicle and your responsibility as a driver.
- Experience with operation, load securement and transportation of heavy-duty construction equipment on flat-bed trucks is required.
- Available and willing to work overtime when required and on an on-call rotation if required.
- Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and organization skills.
- Strong team-player with effective communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team.
