“Oso” meaning “bear” in Spanish, an homage to Whistler’s wildlife – is open daily and offers a profusion of Spanish-influenced small plates, tapas, and house-made charcuterie. The long, convivial bar is the ultimate place to meet for hand-crafted cocktails and inspired wines.

JOB SUMMARY:

Working under the supervision of one of the best chefs in Whistler, the incumbents will play a key role in preparing ingredients and dishes. Our culinary team is passionate about the experience they create for guests through food.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and cook high quality, premium dishes
  • Cook with precision and speed
  • Maintain food safety and hygiene
  • Clean kitchen and work area
  • Communicate and coordinate with the team, including front-of-house

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 1-year directly related experience in premium Western cuisine within an upscale fine dining environment
  • Enrollment in or completion of a culinary program, or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience
  • Food Safe Certification, is an asset
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, withstand heat, and deal with the pressures of preparing food in a fast-paced environment
  • Dedicated team player who naturally builds camaraderie
  • Extremely organized; keeping to deadlines and working with precision in a fast-paced environment
  • Responsible, motivated and energetic self-starter
