***Candidates must reside in Alberta***

Our client is seeking a Digital Security Architect to support a time-bound Legacy Infrastructure Security Stabilization Program. This is an opportunity to apply senior security architecture expertise to complex legacy environments and help reduce security risk while maintaining critical business services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess security risks, vulnerabilities and architecture across legacy infrastructure and applications.
  • Develop practical security architecture recommendations and compensating controls where full remediation is not immediately possible.
  • Design and review solutions involving network segmentation, isolation, remediation, upgrades, replacement and decommissioning.
  • Assess technical changes for security, operational and service-continuity impacts.
  • Identify dependencies, constraints and sequencing requirements.
  • Develop solution designs, architecture decisions, technical requirements and security acceptance criteria.
  • Document risks, options, trade-offs and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture, application teams and technology partners.
  • Provide technical guidance, documentation and knowledge transfer to support implementation and ongoing operations.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of cybersecurity experience, including security architecture, infrastructure, network/application security and security operations.
  • Proven experience with legacy infrastructure, remediation, transformation or stabilization initiatives, ideally within live production environments.
  • Strong experience with network segmentation/isolation, vulnerability and risk management, and infrastructure/application security.
  • Experience developing security architecture, solution designs and implementation guidance across multiple teams.
  • Strong knowledge of security technologies including firewalls, IPS, WAF, endpoint protection, SIEM and log management.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS security, including AWS WAF, Security Hub, GuardDuty and Inspector.
  • Working knowledge of NIST CSF and CIS Controls.
  • Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in environments where documentation may be incomplete and information must be researched and validated.

A degree in Computer Science, Information Security or a related discipline is an asset. CISSP, AWS Security Specialty or OSCP certifications are also assets.
