Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced House Assistant for a semi-formal residence located in Toronto. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the residence. This position is full-time, live-out. Work hours are generally between 10am – 6pm, with some flexibility required.
Candidate Profile:
You are an experienced and knowledgeable housekeeping professional with excellent laundry skills who enjoys keeping a clean and organized home. You understand how to communicate clearly with your principals and the importance of feedback. You are comfortable working independently and working in an environment with young children. You understand a home is a living environment, not just a workplace, and can easily adjust your daily schedule to accommodate activities in the residence.
Primary Responsibilities:
● Daily light housekeeping to include making beds, tidying, and kitchen cleaning
● Basic food preparation and kitchen support in conjunction with the principal
● School and local pickup for the family
● Provide occasional childcare support for the family
● Maintain household inventory of cleaning supplies, and groceries
● Regular laundry with occasional ironing or steaming as needed
● Basic wardrobe management and organizational support for family
● Ensure household security protocols are followed
● Answering the door, receive packages
● Basic pet care for one medium sized dog
● Sort and dispose of recycling, compost, and garbage correctly
Applicant Qualities:
● Good communication skills and professional personal presentation
● Detail oriented
● Must be comfortable lifting 30 pounds
● Excellent housekeeping, and laundry; correct use of products and methods for fine finishes and surfaces
● Must maintain privacy and confidentiality always, exercising diplomacy, discretion and respecting appropriate boundaries
● Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
● A valid driver’s license is an asset
