We are looking for an experienced IoT Test Engineer to join our growing team!

Location: Canada / Argentina/Mexico Remote

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer with strong expertise in test automation and IoT testing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cypress, TypeScript, UI/API/database automation, and AWS IoT services, particularly AWS IoT Greengrass.

The role will be approximately 70% focused on Cypress-based UI, API, and database testing, and 30% dedicated to IoT testing. The candidate should be proficient in developing and maintaining robust automation frameworks, validating end-to-end integrations, and ensuring software quality across applications, APIs, databases, and IoT ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, database, and IoT testing.
• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress and TypeScript.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, API, and database testing, along with manual testing as required.
• Test IoT applications, devices, and cloud services using AWS IoT Greengrass and related AWS IoT services.
• Validate device-to-cloud communication, MQTT messaging, and interactions between IoT devices and cloud applications.
• Create, maintain, and manage test plans, test cases, test data, and test execution results in Azure DevOps (ADO).
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and support pull request (PR) testing, feature branch deployments, and release validation.
• Analyze test results, troubleshoot automation failures, perform root cause analysis, and report defects promptly.
• Develop and execute SQL queries to validate database records, data integrity, and backend processing.
• Collaborate with developers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Support multiple development teams working with REST APIs, web services, and service-oriented architectures (SOA).
• Contribute to continuous improvement of test coverage, automation reliability, and testing efficiency within an Agile/Scrum environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, software testing, and test automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cypress and TypeScript for UI automation.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks.
• Practical experience in UI, API, and database automation testing.
• Proficiency in API testing using Postman and automated API testing tools.
• Strong SQL skills for database validation and backend data verification.
• Hands-on experience with AWS IoT Greengrass and related AWS IoT services for IoT testing.
• Understanding of AWS IoT Core, MQTT messaging, device shadows, IoT rules, and device-to-cloud integration.
• Experience with REST APIs, web services, and system integration testing.
• Working knowledge of Azure DevOps, including test management, test execution, feature branch deployments, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD workflows and supporting pull request validation.
• Strong analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, and defect management skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and supporting frequent software releases.

Key Requirement

Candidates must demonstrate hands-on proficiency in both Cypress-based automation and AWS IoT Greengrass. The expected allocation is approximately 70% UI, API, and database testing and 30% IoT testing. General AWS experience without practical AWS IoT Greengrass exposure will not be sufficient.
