Our client, an industry leader in tire distribution and logistics, is seeking for Material Handler/Forklift Operator to join their team. As a Material Handler/Forklift Operator, you will be part of the Industrial department supporting tire loading operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, teamwork, and attention to detail, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Material Handler
Location: New Glasgow, NS
Pay Range:
Shift: Monday to Friday, 06:30 to 15:00, with occasional overtime opportunities
What's the Job?
- Operate forklift trucks to stage pallets of tires according to a defined pick-list
- Count and verify load quantity and quality to meet safety and quality standards
- Use warehouse management software (“Geode”) via vehicle-mounted tablets for inventory management
- Manually lift and stack tires inside trailers following specific stacking patterns
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by sweeping and cleaning trailers as needed
What's Needed?
- Ability to operate a Powered Industrial Vehicle with a valid license issued by Michelin
- Capability to lift up to 25 kg and perform manual tasks safely and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Willingness to work in varying temperature environments ranging from 5-30°C
- Basic understanding of safety protocols and willingness to adhere to safety guidelines
