Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as TCP/IP, CAN, or LIN
Experience commissioning automated manufacturing or test systems
Experience with Git, source control, and software lifecycle best practices
Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a PC Software Developer to support the development of software used in automated manufacturing, robotics, and testing environments.
This role focuses on software that controls and communicates with hardware. The ideal candidate will have experience working with industrial equipment, instruments, sensors, vision systems, and manufacturing test systems. This is not a web development, AI, mobile app, or business software role.
Responsibilities:
Develop PC-based software used to control and monitor automated manufacturing and test equipment
Create applications that communicate with instruments, sensors, robotics, vision systems, and other industrial hardware
Collect, analyze, and manage production and test data through SQL databases and servers
Integrate third-party hardware and software into complete automation solutions
Troubleshoot software, hardware communication, and system integration issues during machine startup and commissioning
Support factory acceptance testing (FAT), system integration, and customer installations
Work closely with controls, electrical, and mechanical teams to deliver fully functional automation systems
Travel to customer sites in Canada and the United States as required
