Process Engineer

Collingwood, ON

Help Drive Continuous Improvement for a Global Leader in Automotive Safety

Are you the type of engineer who naturally looks for better, faster, and smarter ways of doing things?

Do you thrive in environments where your ideas are welcomed, your input makes a measurable impact, and continuous improvement isn't just a buzzword but a core part of the company's culture?

Our client, a global manufacturer of automotive safety systems, is seeking a Process Engineer to join its growing team in Collingwood, Ontario. This newly created position has been established as a direct result of growth and presents a unique opportunity to help shape the future of the operation while building a role that can truly become your own.

With more than 64,000 employees worldwide and approximately 120 employees at the Collingwood facility, this organization is recognized as a global leader in automotive safety technology. In 2025 alone, the company's products helped save an estimated 40,000 lives and reduce approximately 600,000 injuries worldwide.

For engineers who want their work to contribute to something larger than production metrics, this is an opportunity to be part of a business whose products make a meaningful difference every day.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

This is not a position where you'll simply maintain existing processes.

As the successful candidate, you'll play a key role in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. You'll have the opportunity to build processes, influence performance, develop KPI strategies, and work directly with leadership to create measurable improvements throughout the operation.

Because this role is new, you'll have the freedom to put your own stamp on it, helping define best practices and establish a framework that supports future growth.

You'll also become part of a highly collaborative culture that encourages the sharing of knowledge, ideas, and best practices across facilities globally.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary: $85,000 - $92,000
  • RRSP Matching Program
  • Tuition Reimbursement of up to $5,250 annually
  • Vacation entitlement
  • Recognition programs and employee awards
  • Company and family events
  • University discount programs

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement initiatives across the operation.
  • Analyze manufacturing performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, quality, and throughput.
  • Develop and implement meaningful KPIs that drive operational performance.
  • Train and coach team members on KPI ownership and how their contributions impact overall business results.
  • Facilitate root cause investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Evaluate equipment, workflows, materials, and manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Partner closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Leadership teams to achieve continuous improvement objectives.
  • Develop and deliver training programs that strengthen employee capabilities and support a culture of accountability and operational excellence.
  • Measure, track, and communicate project results and performance metrics to leadership.
  • Champion a culture where continuous improvement is embraced at every level of the organization.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success driving Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with proven root cause analysis experience.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and measuring operational KPIs.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and train stakeholders at all levels.
  • Self-starter mentality with a passion for driving positive change.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where priorities can evolve quickly.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
  • Spanish language skills are considered an asset.

Who Will Succeed in This Role?

  • Gets energized by solving problems and improving processes.
  • Takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do.
  • Enjoys being visible within an organization and influencing change.
  • Wants to see the direct impact of their efforts on operational performance.
  • Thrives in a culture focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Enjoys collaborating with teams and helping others succeed.
