The successful candidate will take ownership of the month-end close process, review financial reporting and working papers, and work closely with the FP&A team to deliver meaningful budget-to-actual variance analysis. • Establish clear responsibilities, deadlines, and accountability across the accounting function.
  • Review and approve accounting transactions, ensuring expenses are accurately recorded and coded to the appropriate projects.
  • Partner with the FP&A team to complete budget-to-actual variance analysis, investigate discrepancies, and communicate findings to management.
  • Strengthen accounting procedures, internal controls, and reporting processes to improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to team members, addressing knowledge gaps and supporting their professional development.
  • Collaborate proactively with operational stakeholders to obtain financial information, resolve issues, and ensure accurate reporting.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to investigate discrepancies and resolve issues independently.
  • Experience with ERP and accounting systems, alongside strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to ask questions, obtain information, and hold others accountable.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in a project-based or operationally complex business would be an asset.

Compensation & Benefits:
