Machine Operator (Food Production - VFFS Packaging)

Job Summary

We are hiring a Machine Operator for a food production facility in Concord. This role involves operating and monitoring VFFS packaging equipment, performing quality checks, troubleshooting minor issues, and ensuring products meet food safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor VFFS packaging machines.
  • Perform machine setup, changeovers, film roll changes, and adjustments.
  • Conduct quality checks on packaging, seals, coding, labels, and product weight.
  • Troubleshoot minor machine issues and report maintenance concerns.
  • Operate related equipment including conveyors, weighers, metal detectors, and coders.
  • Complete production, downtime, and quality reports.
  • Maintain a clean work area following GMP, HACCP, and sanitation standards.
  • Follow all food safety, health & safety, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Work closely with Production, QA, and Maintenance teams.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of machine operating or manufacturing experience.
  • Previous VFFS packaging experience preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in food manufacturing is an asset.
  • Ability to follow SOPs, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Knowledge of GMP and HACCP is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs) occasionally.
  • Ability to bend, reach, push, and pull as required.
