August 8 is an all-you-can-eat restaurant chain that brings together the finest aspects of Cantonese-style dim sum and Japanese sushi to the local community. August 8 was originally established in 2008 where its first location opened in downtown Hamilton, Ontario. As a new concept of dining, it was recognized as the first restaurant of its kind in the area to bring the finest aspects of both Cantonese-style dim sum & Japanese cuisine. The name “August” represented a new restaurant concept for its time and expressed the future vision of the company; the “8” next to August was simply the brand logo (a reinterpretation of “August” in Chinese characters). During the restaurant’s booming popularity, many customers would refer to “August” as “August 8” and many years later, that name would transform a once small restaurant into the brand it is today. The heritage of August 8 truly lies in its customers’ loyalty. As its name emerged as a simple error and has since remained unchanged; a restaurant named by its following.

JOB BRIEF
We are looking for a front-house supervisor with relative experience to grow our organization. Reporting to the FOH management team of the restaurant, the job holder will oversee the daily operations and provide outstanding customer dining experience. Successful candidates must have experience in restaurant management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist to supervise the FOH team, ensuring their adherence to August 8 company policies regarding employment, operational procedures, and health & safety.
- Operates shift with a growth mindset, increasing sales and guest retention.
- Leading, coaching and developing the FOH team in fulfilling the steps of service and all duties both prior to and after service.
- Handles guest issues regarding the dining experience with genuine concern and sincere effort.
- Oversee that all opening and closing duties of the restaurant are completed correctly and that cleanliness and maintenance are maintained.
- Flowing the online orders whenever they come in.
- Assist in the reduction of operational costs including inventory, supplies, and labor
- Placing orders with our suppliers, through various channels, at an appropriate level that reflects current or expected business volume.
- Accountable for accurate daily sales reporting.
- Enforce and monitor all health, safety, and sanitation standards in their area.
- Handle guest complaints according to the provided guidelines.
- Other duties assigned.
