Senior Software Developer - Full Stack

We are seeking a highly accomplished Senior Software Developer - Full Stack for an enterprise-level contract opportunity based in Toronto or Guelph. In this role, you will take on a premier full-stack software engineering, API architecture, and cloud solution delivery capacity, specializing in designing, building, and maintaining robust web applications and integrated technologies.

As a senior full-stack developer, you will bridge the gap between responsive front-end interfaces, back-end microservices, cloud platforms, and spatial data components. Operating within a hybrid work model (2 days per week onsite in Toronto or Guelph), you will lead full-lifecycle software development using Java/JEE, Spring Boot (2.5+), Angular (2+), RESTful APIs, and relational databases across Microsoft Azure infrastructure. This position demands a technical software authority who can author detailed technical specifications, configure CI/CD pipelines, integrate geospatial services, and ensure digital solutions conform to enterprise architecture standards and digital accessibility regulations.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and deliver enterprise-grade, full-stack software solutions using Java/JEE, Spring Boot, and Angular frameworks.

Architect and implement resilient RESTful APIs, backend services, and API management workflows using Azure APIM and Azure App Service Plans.

Design intuitive, responsive user interfaces compliant with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and WCAG standards.

Create and manage relational database schemas, complex queries, and data structures across Azure SQL Database, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.

Build, configure, and maintain release deployments and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines in Azure DevOps.

Develop detailed programming specifications, design application components, and write maintainable, production-ready code.

Execute unit testing, integration testing, and debugging to ensure high software quality and system performance within Agile delivery sprints.

Integrate application components with Esri ArcGIS Portal and Esri ArcGIS Survey123 using RESTful API services and mapping protocols.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including architects, business analysts, and project leads—to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Adhere to enterprise security, privacy, and compliance policies, technical standards, and software governance directives.

Qualifications
Core Technical & Full-Stack Requirements
Full-Stack Development Tenure: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, testing, and delivering solutions using Java/JEE with Spring Boot (2.5+), Angular (2+), and HTML5.

API & Backend Integration: Proven experience in RESTful API design, API management (Azure APIM), and building backend services on Azure App Service Plans.

Relational Databases: Demonstrated proficiency managing and querying Azure SQL Database, Oracle, or PostgreSQL environments.

Cloud & DevOps Tooling: Direct experience utilizing Azure DevOps Repos and Pipelines for source control, build automation, and CI/CD workflows, alongside IDE tools like Eclipse.

Accessibility Standards: Strong working knowledge of accessibility compliance requirements, specifically AODA and WCAG guidelines.

Preferred Assets & Specialized Experience
Domain Experience: Experience developing, enhancing, and implementing Java-based solutions supporting soil management or agricultural systems.

Geospatial Integration: Hands-on experience integrating applications with Esri ArcGIS Portal, Survey123 platforms, and Esri RESTful APIs.

AI-Assisted Tools: Experience utilizing approved AI-assisted software development tools to enhance coding efficiency and delivery quality.
